About Boighor

বইঘর (Boighor) means "book house" in Bengali. We're a free digital library built for readers in Bangladesh, because everyone deserves a library in their pocket.

"To put a library in every reader's hands: no cost, no barriers, no limits."

Why We Built This

Books should be for everyone. But in Bangladesh, many readers face the same hurdles: limited access to physical libraries, the cost of buying books, and the lack of digital options in Bengali. We wanted to change that.

Boighor works like your local library, but online. Limited copies, fair borrowing periods, first come first served. When you're done, you return the book so someone else can enjoy it. No fees. No apps to install. Just open your browser and read.

How It Works

Find a Book

Browse our collection of Bengali and English books. Search, filter, and discover.

Borrow It

Up to 3 books at a time, usually 7 to 10 days each. If it's taken, join the waitlist.

Read Online

Read in your browser on any device. No app needed. Your progress saves automatically.

Return When Done

Click return. The book goes back to the library. No late fees. Ever.

What We Believe

  • Free for Everyone: No fees, no subscriptions. Everyone deserves access to books.
  • Privacy First: We don't track you, profile you, or sell your data. You read; we stay out of the way.
  • Fair Access: First come, first served. Limited copies so everyone gets a turn.
  • Reading, Not Metrics: We care about helping you read. No engagement tricks, no distractions.

Built by Readers, for Readers

Boighor is run by volunteers and supported by donations. We're readers who wanted a better way to share books. If you'd like to help, whether by contributing books, volunteering, or spreading the word, we'd love to have you.
